Ashley bound to United.

MANCHESTER UNITED are on the brink of landing England ace Ashley Young from Aston Villa in a near-£20m deal.
The deal for the forward, who has only one more year on his Villa Park contract, will be sealed in the next 48 hours.

Young, 25 – whose value has more than doubled since he moved to the Midlands from Watford in January 2007 – has agreed a four-year contract.

He scored 39 goals in 193 games for Villa and has netted twice in 15 England appearances, the latest being the equaliser in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Switzerland.

Young’s arrival is part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s plan not only to go for yet another League title and to succeed the United Great Ryan Giggs who in unfortunately in the media limelight lately for a negative report.

Having moved ahead of Liverpool with this season’s 19th crown, he wants to increase the gap as well as reduce the gap of class from Barcelona.

Fergie is also close to a deal for Atletico Madrid keeper David de Gea who is likely to replace Van Der Sar.
