AC Milan defender Thiago Silva has urged the club's board to sign Santos' Ganso this summer, amid rumours the side are willing to bide their time in their pursuit for the player.
The Serie A champions have been linked with a move for the highly sought after attacking midfielder for several months, but face competition from city rivals Inter.
Ganso looks set to leave Brazil after the Copa America tournament in Argentina, with the 21-year-old hoping to recover from a muscle strain in time for the competition which begins July 1.
Thiago Silva hopes his compatriot will join him at Milan in time for next season.
"I have read that the deal has come to a stop. I have read that he may arrive in December, but that's no good, Ganso must be taken now. This is the right time," the defender told Gazzetta dello Sport.
The centre-back was also keen to talk about his club's chances of success next season, while stating the importance for Massimiliano Allegri's side to sign the right players.
He indicated that that Milan must not lose any time with Ganso and added that he wants to win the Champions League which is a dream that he had since he was young.
Thiago Silva has enjoyed a superb season with Milan and signed a contract extension until June 2016, cooling rumours of a potential summer switch to Spain.
He concluded that he wish to stay at AC Milan for the set for his career.
The Brazilian international made 33 apperances in Serie A this season for Milan, scoring one goal in the process
