Jose under Gunner shortlist

ARSENAL are chasing Schalke midfielder Jose Manuel Jurado.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger sent his spies to watch the Spaniard last term and is set to make a £7.5million bid.

Ex-Real Madrid ace Jurado played a big part in Schalke's shock run to the Champions League semi-finals this year.
The 24-year-old impressed on Champions League duty at the Veltins-Arena last season, alerting Arsenal and a host of clubs across Europe to the ability of the former Atletico Madrid man.

Speculation goes on to claim that Wenger will consider a cut-price move for the former Spanish U21 international should Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas make a summer exit to Barcelona.

With uncertainty also surrounding French international Samir Nasri at the Emirates as well, Wenger has been monitoring the market for players and could make a move should reinforcements be required at Arsenal.

The Frenchman confessed in May that he would look to spend money in the transfer window should the 'right' players become available to Arsenal, and the technically gifted Jurado would fit the mould often followed by the Gunners in north London.
