Andrew Cole's son Devante has signed a three-year contract with Manchester City.
The 16-year-old will follow in his father's footsteps by appearing for City, though the former England international was more famous for pulling on the red jersey of its local rivals Manchester United. Most EPL fans do remember him as Andy Cole was formerly in Newcastle scoring plenty of goals. He move to become a red devil and was notorious for missing a lot of chances however he still emerge as the leading scoring in EPL. Thanks to the service of his teammates. Nevertheless, after Twight Yorke arrive to Old Trafford, their partnership becomes the one of the most formidable in the League and won the English Champ this first Treble under Sir Alex Ferguson. Cole continues to win his last trophy available in EPL with blackburn - The Carling League Cup. He had done it all in England.
Now his son had made excellent progress last season, appearing at international level five times for the England U-16s, scoring twice.
Cole has been with City for several years and will now hope to emulate his father, who played for City, United and Newcastle United amongst others, in becoming a prominent striker in the Premier League.
"Devante joins us as a scholar and he will go into the Under-17 level next season - a group of players we are quietly optimistic about," Academy chief Mark Allen told the club's official website.
"We'll be pushing them forward next season and developing them further and I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of him and a lot of the other lads in the near future."
