
The Korean top flight's governing body continues its efforts to eradicate the game of corruption with a new initiative to provide a cash incentive for information on scandals
The K-League Association have announced on Tuesday they will introduce money rewards for individuals who report corruption within the competition.
Tuesday's announcement is the latest in a measures taking by the K-League's governing body following the match-fixing scandal which has surfaced recently. The scandal has already seen 10 K-League players charged.
The K-League Association said the cash rewards would vary based on the information provided but would range from 10 million won (€6400) to 100 million won (€64,000)
Tuesday's announcement comes following a decision to extend the deadline for players involved in the scandal who hand themselves in, until the end of June.
The K-League Association has agreed to lighten the charge for players who turn themselves in and asked prosecutors to do likewise.
