The Reds have confirmed that they have had an offer for Charlie Adam accepted, with the Scot midfielder now on his way to Merseyside to discuss personal terms and undergo medical.
Liverpool have agreed a deal for Blackpool midfielder for an undisclosed fee rumoured to be around £9 million.
The Scot has been linked with a move away from the Seasiders since the January transfer window, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hostpur in the fray for the player’s signature.
In January, Liverpool offered £4.5m for the player, which was snubbed immediately by Blackpool boss Ian Holloway.
But on Wednesday a statement on Liverpool's official website confirmed that the club had agreed a fee after weeks of speculation.
Adam, played 78 times for Blackpool, scoring 28 goals in the process, had a fantastic year in the top flight was on the shortlist for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award, but the 25-year-old was powerless to prevent the club from suffering relegation on the last day of the season.
