Man City turn down £37m Corinthians bid for homesick captain Tevez.

Carlos Tevez suffered further frustration over his Manchester City future on Tuesday night after a £37million bid from Corinthians was rejected by the club's board.

The unhappy Argentina forward was pinning his hopes on City approving his old side's offer and allowing him to return to South America to be nearer his family.

But he was left in limbo after City wasted little time turning it down, while making it clear to Corinthians that the asking price is £50m.

The approach from Corinthians was considered at a meeting at the Etihad Stadium but was always likely to fail amid misgivings about the Brazilian side's ability to pay and how they would attempt to structure a deal.

City's concerns were heightened by an admission from Corinthians director Duilio Alves that they may have to seek a loan arrangement if the FA Cup holders stuck to their 'absurd' valuation. The Brazilian Club however don't not wish to up their bid and incur debts.
