Udinese has announced the signing of Brazilian defender Neuton, who joins from Gremio on a five-year contract.
The 21-year-old has impressed in his homeland in the past two seasons, and the Italian side has been keeping tabs on his progress.
The news was revealed on the club's official website, but no transfer fee has been disclosed as yet.
"Udinese can announce that it has acquired outright the rights of the defender Sergio Piccoli Neuton from Brazilian [side] Gremio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense. The player has signed an agreement with I Bianconeri for five years," the statement read.
The Erechim born man will add versatility and strength in depth to Francesco Guidolin's backline, as he can play at either center back or on the left, and he does not qualify as one of the outfit's non-EU players, as he holds an Italian passport.
The new addition to the team will be unveiled in a press conference later on Wednesday.
