Chile v Peru: Preview
Chile striker Humberto Suazo admits there is a long way to go in the Copa America before his side can celebrate, despite their impressive start.
Claudio Borghi's side go into their final Group C game against rivals Peru top of the group, ahead of their opponents on goals scored and clear of the more established powers of World Cup semi-finalists Uruguay and bottom-of-the-table Mexico.
But Suazo cautioned: "This is just the beginning, a long journey remains to achieve our objective.
"The main thing is that we believe we will have a good championship and reach the top. The most important thing is that the team is working well and I am very happy about that. We are focused on trying to get as many points as we can.''
Barcelona target Alexis Sanchez scored to earn a point with Uruguay last time out, emulating Peru's result with both sides also having beaten Mexico.
Paolo Guerrero has scored both of Peru's goals in the tournament to date, with Esteban Paredes and Arturo Vidal on the mark for Chile in addition to Sanchez.
And Roja defender Pablo Contreras said: "We may be favourite because of the gameplay we imposed as a team.
"The players want to enforce Claudio's game plan and want to be first in the group, that is the main objective now. From now on, all that matters is to win.''
Peru coach Sergio Markarian was at pains not to elevate the passion surrounding the "Pacific Clasico'', and said: "Sport is the worst thing to exacerbate the mood. I do not want offences, I have a beautiful love and respect for the two countries.
"Please do not mix things up, let this be a football game and enjoy it as much as possible,'' he asked journalists before also calling on his players to avoid inflammatory statements.
Peru have been the surprise package during the group stages so far, and are showing genuine ambition that they can go further by also dropping four of their most experienced campaigners to ensure that they will be fresh and not have any potential suspensions hanging over their heads.
