Manchester City to fight with Liverpool and United for Clichy, Nasri

Arsenal are braced for an exodus of three key players after Manchester City reportedly approached the London club for Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy on Thursday.

Arsene Wenger already looks set to lose skipper Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona.

Clichy is a player Wenger has already revealed he would like to keep at the club, but the France international has admirers at Liverpool to the tune of £5 million, and it appears City will usurp the Reds with a £7 million transfer fee.

Most hurtful of all, though, will be the mooted exit of Nasri, Arsenal's star man for much of last season. The Frenchman has been linked to a move to Manchester United, who need a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes. On June 17 Nasri attempted to calm speculation by revealing he would hold talks with Wenger and the Arsenal board, insisting: "Don't listen to all the rumours and everything that is written or said."

However, having missed out on Chile international Alexis Sanchez, City will now lodge a £20 million bid, a substantial fee for a player who could leave for nothing at the end of next season.

In addition, Talksport claims the Eastlands club will tempt Nasri with a £180,000-a-week deal, superior to the financial terms on offer at United. City officials are not willing to comment on the approach at this time, but it is believed Clichy's transfer will be wrapped up before they press home the Nasri deal.

Meanwhile, Tomas Rosicky has joined Denilson is saying he does not want to leave the club.
