Fabio Coentrao's future at Benfica appears to be short-lived after the Portugal international left-back fell out with current coach Jorge Jesus, inching closer to a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to reports in the country.
Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha reports that the two fell out in Saturday's training session and following a heated argument, the player walked out on his team-mates.
Until now, Coentrao had acknowledged the interest from Madrid while stating that he was happy in Lisbon and had a great deal of respect for Benfica, whom he joined from Rio Ave back in 2007.
However, with a potential transfer to the Spanish capital stalling, the player has become frustrated, leading to the bust-up in training. Madrid are reportedly only ready to give Benfica €15 million [£13.5m] and a player in exchange for Coentrao.
